Východiska: Chakra Noise a Algoholik
CHAKRA NOISE AND ALGOHOLIK
Zlatko Baracskai is active both in the academic and music sphere. He teaches at university in the UK and creates and performs music, he is also an interactive designer. He frequently travels back and forth between his base in Bristol and his former home in Budapest, reflecting his nomadic life in his approach to music, too. “I was born in Sarajevo, I lived there for ten years. Then I lived for another ten years in Hungary, then in Netherlands, and now it's my 8th year in the UK. Me and my family left a month before the war started in Bosnia. My father is Hungarian so we went to Budapest, where he got a job and I could go to school and start learning Hungarian,” he says. He released a number of albums with titles such as Chakra Noise and Algoholik, with algorithmic compositions. “There are two kinds of directions that I normally take with music. One is when I attempt to create something that I can already fathom, that I already conceive beforehand, which is really cumbersome and difficult. There are only a few CD's that I've made that are based on very concrete ideas. I'm more frequently engaged with just seeking music. So I would endeavour to use certain tools that I know would take on a life of their own.”
