Radio Wave is a public-radio station oriented primarily towards a young-thinking audience. We cover contemporary cultural and social events. We offer a variety of impulses that can help you find a way out of mainstream stereotypes. We share your passion for fresh music, and we bring you alternatives of many styles and genres.
In addition to our carefully prepared playlist, Radio Wave programming also features various specialized music shows. Their presenters are active members of different music scenes. Our aim is to constantly present a wide range of new music. Our ears and our hearts are more important in the selection than album sales.
Czech Radio - Radio Wave is a member of the European Broadcasting Union. Thanks to this membership we can broadcast exclusive live recordings from various countries in our Stage music show.
Our Radio Wave Live Sessions introduce the most exciting artists from the Czech alternative music scene through a series of free concerts in regional Czech Radio studios. Come to enjoy these shows in your hometown, or watch video-streaming on our website.
We also get involved in concerts by international musicians, and the Radio Wave Introduces... series has so far proudly presented American alternative cowboys Woven Hand, and freak-folk scene stars CocoRosie.
Radio Wave journalists and their shows cover current affairs in culture, sports and society. Our regular news service helps you navigate your way through the information jungle.
Radio Wave reporters and DJs can often be found at the festivals, gallery openings, exhibitions, fashion shows, film screenings and concerts mentioned in our broadcasts.
