Bourání s Jiřím Maturou
Hostem 149. dílu Bourání byl architekt, designér a art-director Jiří Matura. Chronologicky jsme probrali Jiřího studia na fakultě umění a architektury v Liberci a jeho následný přesun do Vídně a pokračování ve studiích na die Agewandte v ateliéru amerického architekta Grega Lynna.
Následně se začal pracovně více věnovat architektuře u filmu a přípravou prostředí, ve kterých se filmy a reklamy odehrávají. Zajímavý byl i Jiřího názor na hotel Praha, na který se pokusil podívat z pohledu účastníka natáčení televizních reklam.
Jiří Matura (*1983)
Jiri Matura is a Czech art-director, architect and designer. He has received his master degree in architecture in Greg Lynn's Master class at University of Applied Arts ( die Angewandte ), Vienna, in June 2009 after studying in Vienna and on Technical University of Liberec in Czech Republic.
Jiri was a student assistant teaching 3d modelling applications and CGI at the University of Applied Arts in Vienna for several semesters. His work and school projects was featured in multiple international publications and received mentions in several competitions. In 2010 Jiri won an international competition organized by DuPont Corian focused on innovative facade design. 2012 he had the chance to design the main interior space of Czech Olympic House for the London Olympics,
Before focusing mainly on his freelance work as production designer and art-director, Jiri has worked for two years as main designer at Wideshot, a progressive international architectural office based in Vienna. His work there included projects for clients as Lotus-Renault F1, Mercedes, Audi, Merck, Carbon-Grossbauteile, Siemens and others.
His continuous work and research in architecture and design is cross-influencing his work as art-director and production designer for commercials and movies. His deep interest for advancements in technology, science as well as sensibility for contemporary art and culture are the base of his work. He is constantly adopting emerging technologies and reflecting current cultural references.
As a freelance production-designer and art-director based now in Prague he has worked on many international projects including both, movies and commercials.
Since 2008, Jiri is active as a freelance art-director and production designer. Before starting as an art-director, he had more than 5 years of experience as 3d artist and assistant art director to production designers Martin Krejzlik, Petr Kunc. He has built his experience in different parts of the projects including designing, CAD drawing and construction supervision, set decoration, previz, animation and 3d modeling.
Since then he has worked with internationally recognized designers as Kevin Phipps, Robin Brown or Chris Jones and a long list of directors.
